This chart puts 15 current FDM printers side by side on four numbers that decide what a printer can make: build volume, chamber, maximum nozzle temperature and maximum bed temperature. It covers Bambu Lab’s full current lineup plus six printers from Prusa, Creality, Elegoo and Anycubic.

Every value comes from the maker’s own spec sheet, product page or wiki, checked October 5, 2026. No printer was tested for this site. Where a printer has two nozzles, the chart gives the single-nozzle or main-nozzle build volume, and the notes below the table give the dual-nozzle figure.

Dual-nozzle volumes. Bambu lists 300 × 320 × 325 mm for dual-nozzle printing on both the H2D and the H2C, and 235.5 × 256 × 256 mm on the X2D.

Reading the Bambu rows. The A-series printers are the open machines. Bambu says it doesn’t recommend enclosing the A1 or A1 mini. It lists ABS, ASA, PC, PA, PET and carbon- or glass-fiber-reinforced filaments as not recommended on the A1. The P1S and P2S add an enclosure, and the P2S adds a 110 °C bed, but Bambu says the P2S has no active chamber heating. The X2D and the H2 printers add a heater that holds the chamber at up to 65 °C. The H2 printers also raise the nozzle limit to 350 °C. Our Bambu Lab P2S vs P1S comparison covers the most common step up within the lineup.

Bambu ended manufacturing and active sales of the X1, X1 Carbon and X1E on March 31, 2026. It says spare parts and support continue until March 31, 2031, so the X1 series is left out of this chart.

Prusa sells its Enclosure as a separate add-on for the MK4S and lists a 45 °C chamber maximum inside it. The CORE One+ product page also offers an optional hotend upgrade that Prusa says reaches 400 °C. The chart uses the standard 290 °C figure. Prusa’s product page now sells the CORE One+ Gen 2, and Amazon’s CORE One+ listings don’t name the generation, so the chart links an Amazon search for it.

How to read the chart

Build volume sets the largest single part. The chart runs from the A1 mini’s 180 mm cube to the K2 Plus’s 350 mm cube. Bambu points to the 256 mm class (A1, P series, X2D) for medium-size projects such as prototypes, and the Centauri Carbon 2 is the same size.

The chamber matters for hot materials. Bambu says the A1’s open frame and lower chamber temperature risk weaker layers and more warping on large ABS, ASA or PC parts. An enclosure keeps heat in, and an active chamber heater holds a set temperature. Creality, for example, lists 60 °C for ABS, ASA and PPS on the K2 Plus.

Nozzle temperature sets the material ceiling. Elegoo says the Centauri Carbon 2’s 350 °C hardened steel nozzle can print PC, PET and fiber-reinforced filaments. At 300 °C, Bambu lists PLA, PETG, TPU and PVA as ideal for the A1. For engineering materials, check each maker’s supported-filament list before buying.

Bed temperature matters for ABS, ASA and PC. The A1 mini and A2L stop at 80 °C, and Bambu’s A2L wiki ties that to the open frame and the size of the bed. Most enclosed printers here reach 110 to 120 °C.

FAQ

Which Bambu Lab printers are current?

On October 5, 2026, Bambu Lab’s US store listed the A1 mini, A1, A2L, P1S, P2S, X2D, H2S, H2D and H2C as new printers. Bambu ended manufacturing and active sales of the X1 series on March 31, 2026, and says it will supply spare parts and support until March 31, 2031.

Which printers in the chart have a heated chamber?

The Bambu Lab X2D, H2S, H2D and H2C list active chamber heating up to 65 °C, the Creality K2 Plus up to 60 °C, and the Prusa CORE One+ up to 55 °C. The P1S, P2S, Centauri Carbon 2 and Kobra S1 are enclosed without a listed chamber heater.

Which printer in the chart has the largest build volume?

The Creality K2 Plus, at 350 x 350 x 350 mm. Among Bambu Lab printers, the H2S is the largest at 340 x 320 x 340 mm.

Should I enclose an open-frame printer?

Check the maker first. Bambu Lab says it doesn’t recommend enclosing the A1 or A1 mini, and says enclosed printing of high-temperature materials on the A2L is not recommended. Elegoo, by contrast, recommends an enclosure for ABS and ASA on the Neptune 4 Pro.
